U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Qatar with the aim of facilitating peace negotiations to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. During his visit, he met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to discuss ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement and secure the release of hostages.
Blinken and Al Thani emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue and noted that the proposal presented by mediators could help resolve remaining differences and expedite the implementation of a peace plan. They underscored the need for all parties to refrain from actions that could undermine efforts to reach agreements.
The U.S. Secretary of State expressed gratitude to Qatar for its significant role in the mediation talks, acknowledging the country’s contribution to promoting peace and stability in the region. According to Blinken, Qatar plays a key role in resolving the conflict, and cooperation between the nations will continue in order to achieve long-term peace in the Gaza Strip.
