IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi refuted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that one of the targets hit by Israeli strikes in Iran on October 26 was a nuclear facility.

Netanyahu had alleged that the strikes targeted a site connected to Iran’s nuclear program, hinting at the facility in Parchin. However, Grossi emphasized that there has been no nuclear activity in the area for a long time, although it may have occurred in the past.

Israeli briefings about the attacks made no mention of strikes on nuclear facilities, further casting doubt on the prime minister’s statement.

Grossi clarified: «We do not consider Parchin a nuclear facility and have no information indicating the presence of nuclear material there.»
