On October 5, the IDF and Shin Bet confirmed in a joint statement that two senior Hamas commanders were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.

The first strike, carried out overnight on the Beddawi Palestinian refugee camp, targeted and eliminated Said Atallah Ali. According to the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet, Ali had organized terrorist attacks against Israel and was involved in recruiting new Hamas members in Lebanon. Hamas confirmed his death, describing Ali as a field commander.

The second strike, conducted this morning near the town of Saadnayel in the Bekaa Valley, targeted and eliminated Mohammed Hussein al-Lavis. The IDF and Shin Bet referred to al-Lavis as the «executive power of Hamas in Lebanon» and claimed he oversaw terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria.

The statement also noted that al-Lavis was responsible for «strengthening Hamas’ presence in Lebanon, using it as a hub for weapons supplies for rocket attacks on Israel and attempts to manufacture advanced weaponry.» Hamas also confirmed al-Lavis’ death in their statement.
