A new resolution draft was presented at the UN Security Council, calling for an «immediate and permanent ceasefire» in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages. The resolution was submitted by 10 council members, including Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, Switzerland, Algeria, Guyana, South Korea, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia.
It is expected that Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and France will either support the resolution or abstain from voting. Unlike the previous version of the document, where the demands were divided into two points, the updated version combines them.
